Additional Info:
Candidates should be free from injuries and capable of bending, kneeling, twisting and working around a casualty on the floor.
Candidates MUST be free from work commitments for the duration of the course and must attend the whole course.
Onsite Courses:
The training room should be of adequate size for the number of candidates and free from clutter.
The venue should be quiet and free from disruption or distractions.
About the course
This qualification is aimed at those who wish to become a first aider in the workplace under the health and safety (first aid) regulations 1981 or for anyone who wants to gain a comprehensive understanding of a range of first aid skills.
This course is normally delivered over 3 consecutive days and delegates are taught by some of the best instructors in the industry who have a wealth of experience in dealing with first aid incidents.
Course Outline
This comprehensive first aid course will include training in how to:
- Assess a situation in a safe, prompt and effective manner - Manage a casualty who is unconscious and not breathing normally
- Manage a casualty who is unconscious and breathing normally - Manage a casualty who is choking
- Manage a casualty who is bleeding or wounded - Manage a casualty who is suffering from shock
- Manage a casualty with burns and scalds - Manage a casualty who has injuries to the skeletal system or muscular system
- Manage a casualty who has been poisoned - Manage a casualty who has an eye injury - Manage a casualty who has a head injury
- Manage a casualty who is suffering from a wide range of conditions including (Heart Attacks, Stroke, Diabetes, Asthma, Anaphylaxis, Seizures)
- Completing factual records including accident / incident report forms - Understand importance of personal hygiene and cross contamination
